Tumil-K - Virbac Animal Health is for use as a
supplement in potassium deficient states in cats and dogs. Potassium is important for normal muscle function.
Dosage and Administration: The suggested
dose of TUMIL-K for adult cats and dogs is
2.34 g (1/2 teaspoon) per 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) of body weight twice a day. The
dosage may be adjusted to satisfy the patient's need.
TUMIL-K Gel is highly palatable. To initiate interest in taste,
place a small amount on the animal's nose or on the roof of its mouth. The
gel may be placed on the paw after initial interest has been established.
Active Ingredients: Each 2.34 g (1/2
teaspoon) contains 2 mEq (468 mg) of potassium gluconate in a palatable
base.
Store at a controlled
room temperature of 59°-86°F (15°-30°C).
Federal law restricts this
drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian
Caution: Use with caution in the presence of cardiac disease,
particularly in digitalized patients or in the presence of renal disease.
Do not administer in diseases where high potassium levels
may be encountered, such as severe renal insufficiency or adrenal
insufficiency. Animals with constipation should not receive the tablet form of this medication.
