Tresaderm
Topical Antimicrobial-Corticosteroid Solution
Tresaderm - Merial is a dermatologic solution indicated for the treatment of certain bacterial mycotic, and inflammatory dermatoses and otitis externa in dogs and cats. Tresaderm is used for both acute and chronic forms of these skin disorders.
Tresaderm pet ear medication is effective against certain bacteria and skin inflammations common in dogs and cats. This ear dermatological solution is used to clear up several skin disorders within an animal’s ears, in addition to flushing out ear mites and other pests. It can be used in both acute and chronic forms of skin disorders and contains three primary ingredients: thiabendazole, dexamethasone, and neomycin. Some dogs and cats may be sensitive to these ingredients and experience some mild discomfort. The container is designed with a nozzle for ease of use even with fussy animals, and the nozzle will allow the drops to reach deep within the pet’s ears. Use Tresaderm for the treatment of acute and chronic bacterial, fungal, and inflammatory dermatoses in dogs and cats. Shop Medi-Vet for the best prices on veterinary supplies.
Many forms of dermatoses are caused by bacteria (chiefly Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). These organisms often act as opportunists or concurrent pathogens that may complicate already established mycotic skin disorders, or ear mite infestation caused by Otodectes cynotis. The principle etiologic agents of dermatomycoses in dogs and cats are species of Microsporum and Trichophyton.
Tresaderm formulation combines these several medications in a complementary form for control of the discomfort and direct treatment of dermatitis and otitis externa produced by the infectious agents listed above.

- Neomycin is antibacterial against both gram-negative and gram-positive pathogens.
- Thiabendazole is effective against the important dermatophytes.
- Dexamethasone, a synthetic adrenocorticoid steroid, inhibits the reaction of connective tissue to injury and suppresses the classic inflammatory manifestations of skin disease.
