Sulfasalazine Tablets

Sulfasalazine is a sulfa drug that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis. It is also used to treat Chron's disease and rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain and inflammation). It is an effective antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drug that works mainly in the intestines by reducing the production of chemicals that mediate inflammation. Sulfasalazine also inhibits the hormone-like compound prostaglandin which causes a decrease in secretion of inflammatory chemicals.

Directions:

Dogs: 10-15 mg/lb by mouth every 8 hours.
Cats: 5-10 mg/lb by mouth once daily.

Can give with food. Allow plenty of fresh water to drink.
