K-CIT-V Chewable Tablets For Dogs
Potassium Citrate Supplement
K-CIT-V Chewable Potassium Citrate is a supplement used
to help manage the formation of calcium oxalate bladder stones [oxalate uroliths,
cystic calculi] in dogs. Given orally, K-CIT-V increases the citrate levels in
the urine, resulting in the calcium binding with the citrate instead of the
oxalate. This is a desired result as calcium citrate tends to stay dissolved
whereas calcium oxalate tends to precipitate out as mineral deposit.
K-CIT-V also helps to create
alkaline urine [higher urinary pH], an environment in which calcium oxalate
stones have difficulty forming.
These patented beef flavored
chewable tablets make it easier for clients to dose their dogs which results in
increased client compliance and a healthier pet. K-CIT-V offers a consistent
reliable dosage to the veterinarian as well as the client. No more measuring of
granules or conversions of human labeled drug measurements. K-CIT-V is dosed and
labeled for veterinary use.
Dosage:
For use in dogs one tablet per 20 lbs body weight twice
daily or as directed by your veterinarian. Dosage may be adjusted to
maintain a urine pH between 7 and 7.5.
Discontinue use if stomach upset occurs.
